FWIW, the Bausch & Lomb-Zeiss Tessar on my Auto Graflex Junior has a seven-digit Number, 1913713, on the front retaining ring, and also has the info, 2 1/4 X 3 1/4 Bausch & Lomb-Zeiss Tessar Series 1c Pat. February 23 1903. I realize the patent date and date of manufacture are not necessarily the same. And yes, it takes excellent pictures. Fred.
P.S. Also, FWIW, the hood was pretty much shot when I received this a coiple of years ago, but all there. Just lots of splits and the cardboard stiffeners slipped out of position. I painstakingly got the stiffeners back in position and glued and "painted it all back together using black liquid tape. It turned out surprisingly well and is pliable enough to fold properly and none of the splits has re-appeared.
