Hi:

I bought a new flash unit for my 4x5 Pacemaker. It appears to have the "standard" clamps on the side to mount it to the camera, but the camera has an attachment plate with which it will not mate.

It occurred to me that perhaps I could take this attachment plate off the camera and the flash may mount on the side of the Kalmart rangefinder directly.

Any advice would be welcomed. Do I need to buy another bit? If so, what would it be named so I'll be able to search properly.

Thank you,

Craig

Craig,

You are missing this piece:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Graflex-Crown-Speed-Special-Flash-Bracket-/250890680302?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a6a3ff7ee

You should be able to attach it to your camera as it is currently configured without removing anything, other than the plate that is attached to the back of the bracket on e-bay.

As an alternative to adding the bracket from eBay, the "clamps" on your flash unit will mount to the lugs for the leather strap on the left side of the camera. They might have to be relocated to match the spacing of the lugs.

I just searched for one and could not find one. If anyone sees one available please email or PM me.

If you don't mind paying for extra parts, try this ebay item;

http://www.ebay.com/itm/GRAFLEX-R-CAMERA-BRACKET-/320750996526?pt=US_Vintage_Cameras&hash=item4aae3fcc2e

Item # 320750996526 if the link doesn't work.

A bit expensive at $20 + $6 for shipping. They do come up on ebay quite often if you can wait a while.

Dave,

Thank you. I think that it has some of what I need, but I suspect that it will be missing some of the connecting parts.

I will wait a while.

Steve,

Looks like it's missing the paper gasket and one mounting screw. Is there something else you were thinking about?

Steve,

If you are looking for the encircling bracket it's listed here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Graflex-Folding-Camera-Graflite-Encircling-Bracket-Pacemaker-23-MIB-Antique-/200660604241?pt=US_Vintage_Cameras&hash=item2eb84dd551

This guy has a 203 7.7 listed and a Rapid Vance RH-10 that comes with the adapter spring clamps for a spring-back. Check his other auctions if interested.

With Dave's help I finally got all the bits together including some P25 blue bulbs and shot a few pictures at our staff Holiday party with my 4x5 Pacemaker. Came out nice and the "huge" camera with flash bulbs was a major attraction and a first for some of the people in attendance.("You mean you only use them once??")

Now my question: Does anyone have the flash guide for clear (not blue) P25 bulbs or know where I can get one? There is a link on this board to the guide numbers for GEŽ Number 5 Flash Bulbs which works, and one for Press 25 bulbs that doesn't work at http://graflex.org/flash/recommendations.html. Can I just use the No. 5 guide numbers?

One last question: Is there any difference in guide numbers for blue or clear P25 bulbs? I know the blue bulbs are for use with color film, but I shoot black and white almost exclusively.

Thank you for your help.
