I am using RF 10 film backs on my XL but over the last month I have broken the aluminum tab/grip off several of the black plastic slide. Does anyone know of a manufacturer or source for some new ones?

Did you mean RH10 (not RF10)?
The dark slides on 2x3 sheet film holders will interchange with the roll holders, if you can locate them. Auction site?

Yes, you are right, RH 10 film backs. I see the sheet film holders on eBay. I was hoping for new or orphan dark slides. Rather than take original film holders out of play. Thanks. May there be good photos captured in your future. [size=24][/size]

I see your point, but you might not have much choice. In any case, you can always put the dark slides back into the sheet film holders, should you ever want to use them; it's not as if you destroyed anything. (As an aside, the one time I tried to use 2x3 sheet film, I soon understood why 120 roll film is a much better idea! Those finicky little pieces of film are a real PITA to tray process.)

Anyhow, good luck in your search. I used to see NOS or orphan dark slides listed on the auction site, but I haven't looked recently.

Alternatively, you could use the dark slide out of a 2x3 film pack adapter. There’s one listed on the auction site right now. Since film packs are no longer being made, you wouldn’t be sacrificing anything of use or (much) value.
