Greetings,
I’m posting again in the remotest off chance that someone has a spare metal backplate or knows of a 3D print file to have one made up?
In my pending quest to facilitate an RB Auto restoration (see my forum entry, below from last month) I did manage to source a junked 4x5 Series B from about 1925 which while being in poor cosmetic condition is sort of complete except for the crucial metal metal back-plate, chimney and ground glass.
The latter two issues can be managed ok but I do need to find or make up a back plate which is more critical.
If I can find or 3D print one, I could at least make the camera usable (even if just for long exposure paper negs or litho film), despite remaining in poor cosmetic condition. I tried repairing the torn shutter curtain with some tent repair fabric and I acknowledge it will always be compromised and the project would never be a high yield one.
As for the back… as long as the thickness is right, the back itself wouldn’t have to be RB…
Any thoughts..or measurements…or a spare part to sell / offer?
IF so, feel free to PM me.
Kind regards,
Stephen |
