A client has asked me to try and sell a Folmer Graflex K 21 camera that's in very nice condition. The problem is I know nothing about it and am finding information about it on the web difficult to come by. The plate on the camera reads:
*********************************
Property Air Force U.S. Army
Camera Aircraft
(5 x 7 Inch)
Type: K 21
Serial No: AC-42-16391xxx
A.C. Order No.: W-535-AC-21202
Specification No.: 31160xx
The Folmer Graflex Corporation
Rochester, NY, USA
Patents Pending
*******************************
This camera was in the posession of the original user until his recent death - he was a military photographer during WWII. It's in awfully nice condition.
Any thoughts on the camera or where I might go for more information? Unfortunately, I only took a photo of the ID tag and not the camera itself.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Don't know a thing about the camera but it's nice to know there's someone beside myself in WY. (Cokeville)

Contact Terry Shuchat @ http://www.kspphoto.com/. He is quite a collector and has one or two vintage aircraft cameras on display and might be able to point you to a good source of info. _________________

Thank you for the advice, 45PSS. I will contact Terry and see what he/she has to offer.
Glenn, funny thing is that not only is there another person in Wyoming, but his name is also Glenn. I saw your username on another post and had to do a doubletake - couldn't remember posting! |

If you find a source for military manuals for cameras, please let me know. I just bought a 1942 K-20 aerial camera in its original case. Manual was missing. Sounds like your camera is bigger than mine (4 x 5). Good luck.
Thanks, Jim Y |

Check the web site of craig cameras in Conn. I printed out the list just of Graflex cameras--many many and some military and many other manuals and repair manuals. Hope it helps. |
