First, I have not been here in a while. No apologies just have not felt the need.
Second, this is not a ******* add but a question regarding one.
The story: I listed a Crown Graphic outfit ******* on Photo.net. Don't expect much by way of results but it's free. Got an inquiry from someone claiming to be in London using yahoo as a mail service. Won't ship out of the country but inquiry said sender had a shipping agent in the US. Got an inquiry this morining from Lagos Nigeria wanting to send me a postal money order for more than I am asking to cover shipping also using yahoo as a mail service. Probably coincidental?
Deleted both but now the question: Any one else had this experience and what do you make of it?

Sounds like one of the classic scams at least on the Nigera side of it, I ship thousands of camera items around the world and never had anyone want to send me more than I requested, normally when you receive this type of inquiry, what they will do, is to send you more, then ask that you immeadiatly send them the overage in US funds, this of course is all before you can find out if their money order has cleared, which means you have sent them a loan, until the M/O clears, which it never does and your left holding the bag and on the hook to your bank.

As far as the person who inquired about the camera, I do often ship items to US agents for customers who are abroad, have never had a problem, but I always verify and make sure any payments are legitimate and have cleared before any products are sent.

If your policy is to not ship overseas, then don't do it, many of us do, but I also know quite a few people who don't wish to sell to overseas customers which is fine as well.

There is a world wide supply of graphics, so I am sure this person would be able to find one that is suitable to his shipping requirements.

By any chance did the "yahoo" mailer go by the name of "Brian Williams" ??? Just went through a two month game of tag with a joker running a similar game, finally sent me a check (Q-CHEX) for the purchase of all my Pentax K1000's and lenses, of course I took the check to the bank and waited, the check was counterfeit and the Fed's are all over it... makes me want to give up on this www. stuff...Anything from Lagos Nigeria gets deleted...Good luck.

A while back(2-3 months)the New York "Times"
had an article dealing with this type of scam.

Genuine USPS money orders are described here:
http://www.usps.com/missingmoneyorders/security.htm

Hope this helps someone.

I surely smell scam too. Both queries used the Name Tony with different last names and like I said both used yahoo. Coincidence is getting stretched farther all the time. I have deleted both messages but still can get at the header data if anyone can read the routing from all those number strings. I would like to post a warning on photo.net but since no fraud has taken place it probably is out of line.
