I shot 2 sheets of very old Fuji Velvia over the weekend. The focus was a little soft because when photographing yourself, it is sometimes tough to focus on something else and then getting into the shot and moving a little. Still, the image looked pretty good (will have to find someone with a slide scanner so I can show you guys). I also figured out the Grafmatic and it is real easy. I plan to try that out either today or tomorrow. Again, I want to thank you guys for all the info

By the way - any wedding photographers here - ones that still shoot film, I mean?

Congratulations!

Yes, Grafmatics are great, but after a spring broke on one of mine, they worry me a lot. And I simply don't mind standard holders...

I successfully scan my 4x5's on a standard flatbed scanner. But I use a small 'light table' or tablet, daylight corrected, placed on top of the neg. It's just bright enough to work with the scanner light and give me results good enough for a quick print or the web. Other people have been successful using a similar method of a frosted piece of glass (just like a ground glass) placed over the neg (or pos) and directing a good light at it when scanning...

Did you ever figure out what model Speed you have?

And wil you be posting these pics on your site?

I'm sure you can find a wedding photographer that uses film. From what I hear, more and more people are specifically asking for film shoots. And you do live near 'the big city' after all...

And I'll even bite... Does this mean you're getting married?
