Hello:
I rencetly bought a speed graphic and a 6x9 back. I shot a test roll checking it out and it's obvious from the film that the rangefinder is not set fot the 135 Optar lense which came with it. I need to adjust the Kalar RF. I've got the instructions from this site as well as the online version. Now for the stupid question. I can't figure out how to get into the RF to adjust it.
It has the Kalart Focus Spot and the flash bracket attached. Do I need to remove these to get into the RF?
Thanks for the help.

I'm assuming you've got the Side Rangefinder model, like I do. The Focuspot and the bracket are merely screwed into the body of the rangefinder. To make adjustments inside, you'll need to remove that body. Those attachments can stay on it while removed.
It's not a stupid question at all. I've never done it either, but have been studying up on it because mine is also out of whack.

I do have the side mounted RF. Reading the instructions, it seems to me you have to leave the RF body attached in order to adjust it. Did I misread your post?

If I may jump in here, the body or chassis stays put but the cover (this one is black) has to come off to get to the adjustable scales.
Only the earliest models, which some have named 'extruded' or 'tube' type that have the scales on the outside |

I chose the wrong term. For once, Les is right! The cover comes off - the body stays on. The attachments can stay attached to the cover.
