I have the opportunity to get an older version mounted in a dial-set shutter. This particular lens in of the Linhof selection with the chrome ring on front and looks and acts like a brand new lens.

If any of you have any experience with this particular lens, I would greatly appreciate any comments, both pro and con, you may have.

The largest prints I make in BW are sometimes a 16X20 and the less often 20X24.
Most of my prints are 11X14.

What are your experiences vis resolution and contrast?

A long time ago, in a place far away, I had one of these. I have some senile recollections about it, but these aren't the same as data.

A T-X is of course a true telephoto design, and the 360 will cover 5 x 7. You can get the optical data from the Schneider website. A 360 T-X will make infinity with 8 or 9 inches of bellows.

The T-X doesn't have a reputation for stellar resolution, but I can't quote numbers. I think my uncoated 360 T-X was in the ballpark of an uncoated Tessar for overall subjective sharpness and contrast, maybe a little worse. It wasn't great, but my lens was old and later coated specimens would have been much better. (Schneider was making them until at least the 1980s.)

I never did anything serious with my T-X, but it was OK for stuff like portraiture. The later Schneider Tele-Arton is supposed to be way sharper than a T-X, but I've never used one.
