I got my my great grandfather's old speed graphic and have no idea what I am doing. I tried to take it to a place in town to see if they could get me started and they broke it! I don't even know what model it is. All it says on the top is: "Speed Graphic, The Folmer Graflex Corporation" and then either a 2061 or a 2081, it is unclear. Can somebody help me please!?!?!? |

A POX UPON THEM!!
I'm gonna guess it's from the mid to late 1940's.
Push down on the little pimple at the top center. It should open the front. Pull down the front to lock in the open position 90 degrees. Unlock front standard by turning the lever at the base from a far left or right position to a center position. Pull the standard out to the small folding infinity stops on the bed rail. But not off the front if it has no stops. Re-lock the front standard. Open the lens by setting the lttle pointer to the first smallest f stop number - maybe f 6.3 (the smaller the f number the larger the opening - f 22 is a small opening). This should get you started until you get to a GOOD source of personal assistance.
Try taking it to a GOOD camera swap/show in your area. I'm sure they will be able to help you. BTW where are you?
Don't give up! There are many more good shots left in that old black box.
Oh yes, keep your fingers out of the cloth shutter.
Good luck.
