have 35mm and medium format experience and a little 4x5 experience. just got my Graflex view. anything quirky or special i should know about this unit before using. also, haven't bought a lense yet: want something nice in the 150 range. any suggestions.

I'm not sure about quirky, since your Camera is a GVII, it should have a graflok back, which means it can accept any holder or polaroid back that a Sinar, Toyo, or Linhoff could handle.

As for a good 150. For cheap but good, look at the 152 ektar, for more modern glass look at a 150 Symmar S, or Caltar 150. Even these newer lenses are cutting edge so they shouldn't cut into the budget that deeply.

You can't beat a coated 6inch Dagor (gold ring, gold dot) A friend of mine just shot a construction job with a Dagor, and submitted 8x10s. The client later needed 20x30s for a show and you could at least make out letters on the hardhats of the workers 60-75 feet away.
