I'd like to start using an RB Super D, but I'd rather not cut my own film & so would like to know what kind of roll film holders I need for this camera, in the absence of a graflok back, and what the chances are of finding the proper equipment. What do most people do who use these cameras?
Thanks,
Wendell

Just curious, but unless you're shooting 3x4, why would you "cut" your own film? I have always found the bag mags to have a certain flair to them. Roll backs for Graflex are out there. It just takes patience to find one. And, going back to 3x4, there are sources for sheet film as well. A little expensive, but there. Also 2x3 sheet film is still out there as long as you don't mind B&W. Your options are many.
Good luck

How about fabricating a 4x5 compatible back for the 3x4. I have a couple of 3x4's right now I'm working on this with. Of course it won't give you a 4x5 image, but then, neither will a 4x5. nice to be able to use regular 4x5 film holders. You don't have to wreck anything to do it, either.

Roger, how is your project coming. I'd be very interested in any plans--successful or unsuccessful--that you'd care to share. A non-destructive mod to a 34 that would allow this would be very useful.

Several 4x5 roll holders on Ebay lately---the 4x5 has a large skirt around it---and was made for the Graflex backs! Bag mags and
Grafmatics also available! Bert

Bert, are you saying that a 4x5 roll holder would fit in the opening of a 34 flex back? With modification?

I just picked up an 34 Mod B and notice that the FP adapter dimensions are larger than those of my Graphic sheet film holders by about 1/8 inch in the 3.25 dimension. The film holders for my 23 Mod B are the same as Graphic cut film holders in the 2.5 dimension. I was hoping to modify some 34 Graphic holders for Graflex use by removing the ridge on the face of the holder and cutting a channel in the edge, but because the Graphic 34 holders are smaller, I don't think this will work.

Sorry for the slow response Brian!
At the time of my post there were 3 or 4
3x4 roll backs on Ebay, and two of the skirted 4x5 backs! Simple to add a piece of wood to the sides of the holders to fill the gaps, then removing the ridge!!
