Is it normal for one side of a view screen to be brighter than the opposite side at the same location. I have a 2x3 with an ektar 127mm lens. Also is it normal for the center to be sharper than the sides. On mine the center is sharp and the two opposite sides are equal but less sharp than the center. |

This is in response to my own question. I made a mistake in the camera description. I have an anniversary 3x4 and not a 2x3. |

somethin's amiss. If you had a 4x5 I say the edges could be a bit soft as the 127 was designed for 3x4, you shouldn't have any problems softness.
there are several factors. Is the ground glass firmly in place or does it droop a little on the film holder entry side?
Pull the lens and look at the rear cell. are there any dents or dings?
Is the front standard locking squarely?
I'm not sure what to say about the diminished light on one side. The only t hing I can think of is there's something in the way between the GG and the lens.
have you tested this will film? are the results the same as the GG? |

I haven't shot film yet. I just purchased the camera. Today I was trying to set the infinity stops and noticed these problems. I will look into the items you told me about and as soon as I shoot some film will let you know the results.
thanks a million
