Would you leave the camera in natural wood once you put it together? _________________ Milos Gazdic | www.hirtc.com |

Body Mimwax Ebony stain polyurethane and stain combination with 2 coats Cabot satin polyurethane varnish.
Lens door black satin paint.
View hood door aluminum primmer with satin black paint top coat. Was unable to get a smooth finish as the door fish eyed even with cleaning and treating with mild acid.
Inside of body given a coat of flat black paint.
Wind and dust was a major problem.
Body was separated and loose at gap in picture #2 top right.
#10 brass flat washers drilled out and painted black for spacers under the roller bushings.
1/4 inch plywood trimmed down to 1/8 inch thick and stained black for spacers under trip lever plate, mirror spring plate, wind plate, and tension plate.
The shims are necessary for proper fit and camera operation.
Back and bottom rear plate will have shims added to the sides of the camera if a light leak problem develops.
and, yes, I over sanded. gave up on perfect and went for as few flaws as possible.
All plates and hardware left original. _________________ The best camera ever made is the one that YOU enjoy using and produces the image quality that satifies YOU. |
