I just added another Graphic camera to keep my RB company, it's a Anniversary Graphic 4X5 #402424
And I was wondering what flash fits this model ?

I have a Graflex flash ( # 2749 reflector ) and # 2773 battery holder, but the brackets on the battery
holder are too large to fit the bracket that's on the Kalart rangefinder. Looking thru the Bay at similar
Anni's the Kalart brackets seem different, the one on mine has king SOL logo stamped into it.
Is that for a particular brand of flash other than Graflex ? I don't seem to have encountered Sol flashes
in my GAS attacks.

Added a picture of the flash mounting bracket on the Kalart RF

Jim, the link comes up "invalid attachment specified." Can you fix?

This is the bracket you need, the "silver" part pictured on side of the Kalart on this Crown: http://www.ebay.com/itm/GRAFLEX-CROWN-GRAPHIC-4-X-5-FILM-CAMERA-w-film-poloroid-film-holders-/330836325303?pt=US_Vintage_Cameras&hash=item4d0761b3b7

You'll also need a pair of Graflex clamps for the battery case, as here: http://graflex.org/images/graflite/graflite-by-graflex.jpg

I obtained a bracket from the auction site, and the clamps at a camera show. They come up on the auction site (uBuy) from time to time.

King Sol was a brand of flash synchronizers available in the day of the camera, a late 1946 4x5 Speed Graphic. The Graflite that Henry refers to came out in 1947 along with the Pacemaker Crown and Speed Graphics.

http://cameraeccentric.com/html/info/graflex_9.html page 5, synchronizers shows some of the other brands available.

Henry - the link seems to work for me, as of yet I don't have any
photo hosting set up, I plan to rectify that soon.
The Picture can be seen here in this thread at the LF photography forum -
http://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum/showthread.php?97448-WTB-Anniversary-Graphic-parts
Unfortunately, if I need that particular bracket then I'll have to swap out
the existing Kalart range finder for another that has that bracket, the
one that's on the camera now the bracket is riveted on.
The clamps I have, I obtained a Graflite flash unit similar to the link you posted
a while back but the clamps are too large. The business ends of the bracket on the Kalart
is 5/8" wide, with a 1/16" gap where the clamps would slide in. The graflite clamps I have are
almost 1.5" wide.

45PSS - Thanks for the camera manufacture date, may have to trawl the
Bay to see if a Sol flash unit will surface.

Another question is how available are flash bulbs for these types of flash
unit these days ?

The new link comes up with a login page stating you do not have permission to access the post. Try linking to the post without being logged in to that site.

See:
http://graflex.org/speed-graphic/kalart-adjustment.html ;
http://www.cameraeccentric.com/html/info/kalart_1.html ;

Take the cover off, drill out the rivets, tap the holes if needed, attach the new bracket.

Agree with 45PSS, drill out rivets and replace bracket with the Graflex one one that accepts the Graflite clamps, since you already have the Graflite reflector and battery case. You'll also need the proper synch cord for bi-post to household (see http://www.paramountcords.com/graflex.asp). As for flash bulbs, good luck. Ones that are available (I think somebody in Ireland was making them---any of our UK members know about that?) are pricey. I have a goodly supply of no. 5 and 5B, left over from my 35mm days plus some I was given. Back in the day you could buy 5B Sylvanias by the dozen at KMart for between $2-3. I'm saving mine for use at the next Reading (PA) Air Show: lots of WWII re-enactment and aircraft!

Urgh, I'm reluctant to do the drilling, but looks like I'll probably need to
if I ever want to try the Graflite, the Graflite came with a large knot of cables
so it's not that I'll need cables for it, but it's where I put them !
Googling found some bulb sources online and your # 5 and #5B bulbs are going for
$65 p/dozen. One's that I would use ( Press 25 ) would set me back $67 p/dz.
$5ish a pop is pricey but considering that they're still available
doesn't make it so bad, just no shoot from the hip digital style shooting.
