I am looking to buy one of these flashes and was wondering what the differences are between the models. Such as 610,710, 780, 782, etc. Particularly the 710 and the 780. Thanks to anyone who can help.
Steve

If you can expand on the models by 'Name', I may be able to find out some details.

This from Honeywell Ad in Popular Photography, Dec 1973 (P.S. I have EVERY issue from 1st one May 1937 ON>>!)
Strobonar 710.....
"High powered Manual unit with self-contained rapid charging Ni-cad batteries.

Auto/Strobonar 780.....
"All the features of the 710 plus automatic operation from 2 to 30 ft. Offers a choice of two f/stops and two distance ranges at each film speed. Lightning flash speeds up to 1/50,000second"

Strobonar 810....
"Manual unit for the Pro who shoots a lot and needs fast recycling. Gives up to 600 flashes per high voltage battery;120 flashes per charge with Permacad Power Pak. recycles in 2-4 secs."

Auto/Strobonar 890....
"The feature-packed high performance 890 offers automatic operation out to 30 feet with a choice of two f/stops for depth-of-field control. Fast 2-4 sec recycle time with Permacad Power Pak or standard-510 volt battery."

Auto/Strobonar 782....
"High powered rapid-charging unit for the Strobo-Eye photographer. Gives enough light for perfect exposures out to 43 feet- automatically. Green light for pre-test and verification of good exposure."

Auto/Strobonar 892....
"For the Strobo-Eye photographer who doesn't want to lose a second. Operates like the Auto/Stobonar 782, but with separate power source. Fast 2-4 sec recycle."

"Easy-to-read calculator dial features both metric/DIN and footage ASA scales. Units are multi-voltage (120 to 230 VAC)".

Four of the most commonly encountered Strobonars , on e-Bay and elsewhere, are the 700, 770, 800 and 880. The 700 is a manual flash with 4 sub-C cell NiCads in a removable battery tray, the 770 is an auto version of the 770. The 800 Pressmaster is a manual flash which operates only on a 510v battery pack or AC adapter, the 880 Pressmaster is an auto version. All 4 of the above flashes have a "U" shaped flash tube and a guide number of 160. They are a non-thyristor equivalent in power to the SunPak 611 handle mount flash.
