First of all:Thanks everyone for your suggestions they all were needed in my case. The diagram offered at another site showeed me what I had in there , and the remarks about the "little balls an rods told me what to expect. Heres what I did: I placed the whole camera in a large tray to catch stray parts. then I removed the plastic cap and carefully removed that plunger. It was indeed bent. I straightened it and then shot some 2-26 spray lube (safe will not hurt plastic)in the tube then re assembled the tube contents and replaced the cap, still poor results so I removed the cam cover and found it needed the recommended "Flick of the fingernail which I did. Then I applied a micro drop of 2-26 to all pivot points and now "Shes a workin justa fine"...my sincere thanks to all......ron H.(im now a trained rangefinder resue tech thanks to you all)
