I haven't posted here for several years; just haven't had time to do any photography. I hope to get back into it this summer, and last weekend fished out my Speed Graphic and gave it a good clean. I'm also building one of the 'Bulldog' camera kits from Camera bellows.
I have just about every type of film holder, including a 6x7 Caluet C2. I've only used it a few times on the Speed Graphic, and have had to remove the glass, and use the slide locks. The problem is that the centre part of the holder, the part over the film, is hicher than the two 'rails' at the edges, and therefore would contact the class, and scratch it. I read somewhere, I can't remember where, that newer versions of the holder had additional plastic (I think) extensions fitted to these side rails, in order to lift the glass clear of the back of the holder. Does anybody know if it is possible to modify existing holders so that they can be used under the glass? If so, where can I obtain the parts? Alternatively, can I send the holder somewhere to be modified? I am in the UK.
Many thanks for any help. _________________ Stephen Furley |
