I know what it is and what it does, but what kind of batteries does it take, and if it's otherwise non-functional, i.e. bulb(s) out, can it be repaired? The camera I have is nearly mint, but the battery compartment has a small rectangular piece of wood inside to help hold spring pressure from the battery cover.

The rangefinder works exceptionally well, and I'd love to have the camera functioning at 100%.

The above is a Polapan 400 image using the rangefinder for focusing. Lens is a Graphic 127mm f4.7 made by Kodak, with Synchro-Compur shutter, though for this exposure I think I used the focal plane. I honestly don't remember.

the focuspot takes 2 AA batteries. Remove the wooden block and put it in a safe place. Put 2 AA batteries opposite polarities in its place and replace the door. If the bulb is good it should work

Thanks, Dennis. About half an hour after I posted my message I discovered how to get the light to work, and it does.

Now if I can find a 127mm lens with working x sync... I have a lens in a beautiful Compur shutter, but the sync connector is broken. The whole point of having the focus spot in working order was so I'd be able to focus in low light and shoot electronic flash.

Anybody wanna sell a good 127 with either bipost or ASA sync connection?
