I have a Pacemaker dating from 1948 judging from the lens numbers. I have two lenses. Both have a button next to the red time numbers. What's that for? One of the lenses 203 7:7 Ektar in a flash supermatic shutter has a lug in a slot you can move, M to F. What is this? Is it a flash timing? The other lens - 4.7 in a Supermatic X shutter has a bubble in the front element. I guess the bubble is a so-what? Am I right? does the X on Supermatic X mean it's X synchronised?I know these will look like eaasy questionsto those who know the answers, but I've read the faqsand I can't find the answers. TIA |

The little round button is a press to focus button. At any shutter speed if you hold this button down while tripping the shutter the lens will stay open until you cock the shutter again. This is for focusing on the ground glass. The lever is for M sync and F sync. the M is for 20 mili secon bulbs, and the F is for gas filled 5 mil sec bulbs. The shutter that says X on it means that it works with Strobe only (no delay). Russ |
