I have one each of the above cameras.
1)Speed Graphic serial # 266978, with Compur-Rapid shutter & Zeiss Tessar f3.5/105mm lens. It also has a focal plane shutter and a Kalart rangefinder.
2)Crown Graphic serial # 411249, with Century shutter, Kalart rangefinder & Graftar f4.5/103mm lens. No focal plane shutter.
I also have a few acccessories; focusing hood, roll film holder, film pack holders, cut film holders and a Graflite Jr. flashbulb holder for press 25 size bulbs.
Where can I find instruction and service manuals for this equipment? Also, what film is still available in 2 1/4 X 3 1/4 format?

The Speed is from 1940
the crown is from 1946.
I know Kodak recently stopped producing film and I've heared conflicting stories about Ilford.
You might want to try these guys.

They buy master rolls of Ilford and cut it themselves. I asked them about cutting film for 6x8 and other than getting the dimentions just right (4x5 film is about 1/16" undersize) they had no problem and it would be cheaper than 8x10.
Pack film is long gone so that's a paperweight (although it's a hidden source for darkslides)
manuals and other things can be found as copies on several sights, look through the helpboard or wait until somebody posts the URL. Midwest camera Exchange http://www.mpex.com might have some. |
