Thanks for the info, TR. How about removing the shutter cloth spools? Does anyone have any hints on disassembly? |

I haven't tried it with a Graflex focal plane shutter. On classic miniature cameras with cloth FP shutters, the curtains are attached to the rollers with a strong, flexible adhesive, and I speculate that the Graflex curtain is, too. It may not be feasible to remove it unless you are ready to replace it. Focal plane shutter fabric used to be available from National Camera. I dare say that a suitable material can be found -- after all, National Camera found it -- but I haven't yet made the attempt.
The one Graflex shutter I've examined has its drive spring contained in the lower roller. If I were going to dismantle a Graflex shutter, I would proceed with great deliberation and caution.
Your best recourse on this site probably is Bert Saunders. |
