After playing around with different camera movements I found that I couldn't focus to infinity when the bed is dropped. I'm using a 127mm lens. The focus rack is in the rear of the camera and the front standard is placed against the infinity stops. The front standard cannot be pushed further in the camera since it blocks on the joints of the focus rack.

I really hope there's some sort of solution to this, since I would like to use front forward tilt to increase DOF when shooting landscapes.

With the bed at 90⁰ and rails all the way back is the rail reference for setting the infinity stops. Now drop the bed without changing anything else. Using the focus knob, move the rails back as far as they will go, front section should be in front of rear not under it. Try refocusing by moving front standard. Did it gain enough?

Not really. But I've tried something else and that seems to work.

1. open camera front
2. extend lens to infinity stop
3. turn the focussing wheel as if you were focussing on something very close.
This will disengage the rear focussing rails from the body tracks.
4. drop the bed
5. unlock the lens standard and slide the standard back so that it covers the
gap between the bed and body rails, and lock it there
6. adjust lens tilt and rise
7. focus with the focus wheels to get infinity focus (This will have to be
determined on the ground glass because the rangefinder and focus scale on the
bed don't work in this situation)

I got this tip from someone at photo.net and it worked.

Hi, that info would have been from me. This problem seems to only exist with Crowns and 127mm lenses, and Speeds with 135mm lenses. I have the latter, and fooled around for a while before coming up with the answer. These lenses on these cameras want to be at or very near the link between front and rear rails to achieve infinity focus with the bed dropped. By disengaging the rear rails from the body tracks, the lens standard can be located and locked at this required spot. Once finished using this setup, you have to be careful to put everything back properly to avoid damaging the focusing rails.
