I just got this in Japan. Miniture speed graphic in really excellent condition. It has a flash shoe on the left side of the body. At the focal plane shutter there is a lever to put in position Trip, Back, Front. What is this for? Am I correct in thinking that this is a post 1956 production?

Trip position for the body release! back releases curtain--front releases lens shutter
Push towards camera body and slide into position desired

The serial number says it's from '47. I'd like to see a photo of this flash shoe. could it be an owner add on?

I assume you are talking about the flash socket, located just behind the trip lever,
>>on the "right" side of the camera<<
