Hi everybody,

my diaphragm leaves are definitely stuck.
time for lubrication.

since the shutter seems to work fairly well, i was thinking to remove just the rear lens element to gain access to the diaphragm and lube with a toothpick. what do u think?

also, how to unscrew the rear lens element? do u have links at this purpose? and no, i don't have a dedicated wrench and i'd like to avoid buying (looking for) one.

thanks everybody,
Andrea

It depends on the lens. A typical ektar/optar/raptar can usually be unscrewed with a rubber band on the out side of it to help your grip.

They make a very flexible/tacky rubber sheet to help increas your grip too. I pay about a $1.00 for a 4x6 inch sheet, a friend of mine buys the same material in 12' by 4 feet sheets at the local Physical therapy supply for $6.00. Playtex gloves might be easier to find

Sears has a nice little plastic handle with rubber strap "strap wrench" for around $10 that work great. Once off use light weight oil sparingly.
