I'm rebuilding a couple of old Speed Graphics, and will need to relube the shutter roller bearings and the gears. I poked around on the forum, and found the official graflex lube chart, but am not sure what good modern equivalents are. What should I be using on the rollers -- grease? Oil? what kind? and what, if anything, on the gears and mechanisms that control the rollers?
Thanks for any suggestions. |

I've had recommended Ronsonol lighter fluid for ungumming and Radio Shack needle oiler for light oil.
By the way, did you disassemble your cameras without manual? If not, which and where did you get it. Thanks.

Tri Flow or simular fine machine oil with Teflon works great on the rollers. Lubriplate or white lithium applied sparingly for the gears.

Thanks for the lubrication suggestions, folks. The camera's in a bunch of ziplock bags right now waiting for me to find time to get back to it: I originally took it apart without a manual, but later did find someone who had scanned in some key pages from the repair manuals and posted them on the web -- sorry, I can't find the link right now; I'll add it if I find it.
