Are there ever any events that are Graflex-related (much like the Club Rollei in the UK, or Leica collectors in US, etc.?)? For example, Club Rollei would have a table at Photographica (large swap meet in London) each spring. I was there on other business and attended a Club Rollei meeting and the large London swap meet where Club Rollei had a small exhibit that acted as a gathering spot for Rollei enthusiasts.
1> Do Graflex collectors/users have a certain photo event where a "critical mass" have a sub-group meeting? Photo exhibition? Swap?
2> Is there a Graflex collectors/users organization?
3> Do former Graflex employees get together in Rochester for reunions, etc.?
This web site is incredible, and I appreciate all the work that some diligent individuals contribute keeping support and interest for Graflex/Graphic cameras alive!
I have used other cameras in the 35 years I've been taking photos (TLR, Pentax, etc.), but my best shots are STILL taken with 30-50 year old Graphics. I learned from a master photographer in 1969 (Julia Kelley Miller, with Yearbook House at that time) who coached our Saguaro High School (Ariz.) yearbook staff. She showed me how to use an Aniversary Speed Graphic, load holders, etc. I recently met a guy in his 20's at a photo swap meet who just bought a Pacemaker Crown 45 and was shopping for holders, lens accessories, etc. and I pointed him to this web site. |
