hi -
can anyone give me an idea where i might find some used recessed lensboards that would fit a graphic view II - or an idea of other cameras that used the same size lensboard so if i search #bay, i might have additional things to search for besides "graphic view II". (i had one a while back, but sold it with the lens, and now wish i sold the lens without the board )
if it were not difficult i would make one myself, but i have a feeling that making a recessed board is lot harder than making a regular board ...
thanks in advance for your help!
- john

I think it's just the various Graphic boards. Not just the II but the I and I think the pre-anversary? The graphic boards will fit some other cameras but going the other way seems to be a problem. |

Nick, you're right about Graflex boards. Any Graflex 4 inch board will fit. That does not include the aluminum Pacemaker boards (they're not 4 inch anyway). I've also used the flat Calumet boards, but the inside ridge has to be filed off so it's flat on the inside.
As far as recessed boards... I made a comment in another thread that a Calumet board would fit. I was wrong. Looked like it but I didn't actuallyt test it. Then I wanted to use it and found out it's just a bit too big. So as far as recessed boards go, looks like only the Graflex Graphic View board will fit. They are around and do show up on ebay frequently, but be carefull because some people seem to think they're worth twice what they really are...

I have a drawing for making a recessed board out of wood for GVI and GVII! A saw, some Elmers glue and some plywood, and your in business!

I believe that I have one sitting around somewhere with no lens in it. As I recall it is in nice shape with about a number 0 hole in it. I need to do some looking and that will not happen tonight so if you are still interested I will do some of that looking. |

Try searching for "graflex" and look at everything. I was lucky enough to get a Graphic View recessed board but had to buy a bunch of film holders and other stuff. It was a reasonable price for the board alone and it was clearly visable in the photo.

I made a recessed lensboard from plywood from a hobby shop. Many various thicknesses available. Good measuring and careful cutting with a small electric scroll saw, and you can make them any size... Extended lensboards also....... |
