Greetings,

I used to enjoy shooting with Tri-X Ortho because of the dramatic shadows and pin point detail of faces (not always appreciated by the subject!!!)it would render. I know this is not available anymore. Are there any ortho emulsions available that have normal or slightly high contrast? Thanks.

Macophot ort 25 By Cachet. I know they have it in 35mm, and I'm pretty sure it's in 120, but 4X5 I don't think they have.

Have you tried using a #44 filter with tri-X?

I Just checked the cachet website. They have ORT 100 which is more appropriate for pictoral (Near normal contrast)

Ilford Ortho Plus is available in sheet sizes only, not in 120 or 35mm, at least in the uk, I don't know about elsewhere. It is about 80 ASA in daylight, 40 in tungsten, and about the same contrast as FP4.
