Hello! I've been inspecting my new Crown, Opened her up and "hello! Theres a cable in there!" It appears to be a body release: press the little chrome thing and the shutter(if I had a lens on her) would fire, should fire, or would it? The cable acts v. sluggish, especially on the return. Can these things be cleaned/lubed/adjust in situ or will I have to replace it? If so, can you recommend a parts scource? Thanks for all the answers to my sophmoric questions. This forum is terriffic! |

Look for kinks in the cable, and look at the connection inside the body, see if the cable is pulling straight, and if the small tension spring is still in place.....like any spring covered wire, a few spots of light oil (I use sewing machine oil)cant hurt! If you have to re-connect the screw or spring....cover that slot with masking tape, if the screw falls loose.....guess where it will go.....yea, in the slot!!!!!
