Has anyone used a 302mm Raptar on a super graphic? Measured extention on mine is 12 1/2 inches or about 325mm, so I should be able to focuse some what closer than inf. (Don't know how close.) But would the lens be too heavy for the front standard of the super. It is a Tessar with max apeture of f4.5, so about a 67mm hunk of glass. Anyone have the weight for this thing. I am considering this as a completion to a three lens kit consisting of a 90mm, and a 162mm. All would be Wollensak Raptars. Any help would be appreciated.

Well it's too early in the morning to be certain, but my calculations show a min focus of 20 feet. As far as weight, my Pacemaker can handle the 7.5" f2.7 aero ektar and it weighs as much as the camera itself, but I don't recommend hand holding.

The thing that bugs me is I've never heard of a 302mm Raptar!!! 302 Mustang, yes, 203 Ektar yes, but never a 302 f4.5 Raptar.

Les,

Specs can be found here, http://people.smu.edu/rmonagha/mf/lflenses.html about half way down the page. Once you go to the page, do a control “f” search, searching for Raptar. You will find it with out too much trouble.

I saw one go on Eba…..y some time last year, and can’t stop kicking myself for not bidding on it. It went for under $200.00 US, and looked as if it had never been used. There is also one ******* here, http://www.vintagevisuals.com/large.htm but this is more than I want to spend on this lens. If my 162mm Raptar is any indication, the lens should be very sharp, and with a 377mm image circle, I could use it on 8x10 if I ever want to move up from 4x5.
