Hi,
I bought a 4x5 speed graphic with the Focal Plane shutter removed.
I'd like to put a FP shutter back in. I'm looking for a complete FP shutter (the shutter cloth, the rollers,...). The shutter is of the later type (Hi/low switch and speed indicated in a window).
I also need a few screws for the bed brace.
If you know where I could get those parts or a "parts" camera for cheap... ($50 including shipping to France ?)
(You might even have one you don't need...)
I live in France and Graflex are very scarce around here.
Thanks to help,
Karim |

You might do well to contact Fred Lustig, who bought all the parts formerly held by WD service. I believe he also has machining tools for these types of repairs. I KNOW he has the expertise and experience to help you if he can. I concur that he is the best person to contact for Graphic repairs, is quite reasonable and is a courteous and knowledgeable gentleman to talk to.
Contact him at:
Mr. Fred Lustig
4790 Caughlin Pkwy #433
Reno, NV 89509
1-(755)746-0111
Call during daytime only so you will have to take into account the time zone differential. He does not have (or he chooses not to disclose) an email address.
Hope this helps!!

Sobahguy, thanks for your reply...
I'm really interested in buying the parts or (best) a parts-camera to do the repairs myself...
I'll keep the address, just in case, but I don't plan to pay a return trip to America to my Speed... |

Rankim, It cost $35 to ship a Crown to England, and VAT (value added tax) on top of that, so the parts would have to be super cheap, the curtain by itself would cost pretty close to $50! France is about the same as England for shipping costs, so your essentially asking for a free curtain! Parts cameras are all being absorbed by dealers that cannot be outbid on Ebay, so they can tear them down and sell one part at a time! Bert |
