As I upgrade my 3x4 speed graphic, I'd like to be able to exchange lenses in less than 15 minutes for a longer lens. The newer cameras have folding infinity stops, which I've never personally seen, but appear handy but incompatible with my camera. Has anyone fitted folding stops to a speed graphic? Did you have to modify the front standard, or can you exchange to a newer front standard onto the old track? |

I have an old 3x4 speed with the fixed stops. Near as I can tell, the rails are identicalto my more modern crown and speed with folding stops so I feel sure that they will fit. I'm sure that you will understand however, I don't want to take them off to check for certain. Midwest Photo sells the quite reasonably though and I sure they would: 1) know for certain, 2) take them back if they didn't fit.
However, it is most likely you will use a telephoto with ground glass focusing where standard placement isn't critical. You can push the standard into the body, drop the bed, pull the standard off the tracks, and raise the bed and reinsert it from the front, thereby getting out of removing the stops to fit a telephoto.
Hope this helps
