Banjo, the VM says that there are two 270/5.6 Rotelars, one for the XL and one for "9x12" but it gives no details. It doesn't mention an f/6.6 one. As we know, the VM is incomplete and sometimes wrong.

You might be able to use yours by hanging it entirely in front of the lens board. Doing this will probably require a stepped bushing behind it (front end screws into back of lens, rear goes through board, is held in place by a retaining ring). Steve Grimes made one such for my 12"/4 TTH tele.

What to get? I dunno. If I were you I'd break down and buy a copy of the VM and try to understand UK-made tele lenses. Dallmeyer and Ross, mainly, some of theirs turn up in shutters. BTW, I can't figure 'em out but I'm not motivated ...

I'd also visit Schneider's archives at http://www.schneiderkreuznach.com/archiv/archiv.htm to find out more about their teles. Tele-Xenar, Tele-Arton. The VM says Tele-Artons are better. AFAIK Rodenstock has nothing like Schneider's archive.

I'm sorry, but the days of the cheap 12"/4 TTH telephotos seem to be over. See, e.g., http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150741588341 . I sold that lens to Jim, lost money on it, but that was then. Won't do for a Century but is the longest lens that's comfortable on a 2x3 Speed.
