Just purchased an Ektar 152mm lens with the MX flash selctor switch. What I am curious to know is about what year this lens would have been manufactured.

The two letters that start the serial numbers on Ektar lenses are a code to the year of manufacture.
C=1, A=2, M=3, E=4, R=5, O=6, S=7, I=8, T=9, & Y=0.

Congratulations! The 152 is considered "normal" for 4x5 (Dan Fromm, where are you?), and should give you great results. In my experience, they aren't particularly easy to come by, either. Lots of 135s and 127s floating around (both slightly W.A. for 4x5), but for some reason, probably having to do with coverage when used as a press photog's lens, you don't see many of these 152s cropping up (no pun intended!).

I'm right here, Henry, agree with you completely.

Thanks, Dan. May I use that statement over and over again?
