I'm trying to learn the adjustment on a Graflex 2 Cell Flash regarding the screw above the red fire button.

The screw turns from "N" to "1" to "3".

What do theses symbols correspond to?

ThanX

This is a sound bite answer and I encourage you to find either a Graphic Graflex Photography book (9th or 10th ed) or an instruction manual which may be available online. With that:

N is normal with two series and to parallel outlets, Used much like a 35mm camera in that you hook the sync'd shutter to the flash and make the exposure by tripping the shutter.

1 is set up the same way, but adds the ability of using a solenoid to trip the shutter from the red button on the flash, so two cords are needed, one to sync, one to trip.

2. is used when extra batteries are employed for multiple flash bulbs and either a car, 6v, or multiple Graflite flash units are used.

and the slot in the switch was made to use the blade of a household to bi-post cord to rotate.

Try looking around here, I'm pretty sure they have a online manual that will have what you need
