Hello all, my first post here, with a question about my first Speed (I have 3). Great Cameras!
I have a Anniversary Speed with the older (silver, external adjust type)
Kalart rangefinder, and I'm trying to remove it from the camera for repair. I have
removed the two set screws from the actuating arm inside the body, however I can't remove
the arm from the shaft. Is this pressed on or just tight? Should it simply slide off? What is the trick? I'm afraid to really "get tough" for fear I'll snap the shaft or something.

Greg,
Try WD 40 on the shaft, it just slides on, may be gualed or rusted in place! Try gripping the shaft with kneedle-nose pliers while moving the arm!
This particular model has a nut hidden under the slider for adjusting the rear reading......Must fab a wrench to adjust it!
Email me at

Have as nice day.........Bert |
