I have located a nice Graphic View but it has a spring Back. I sure would like to have a Graflex Back on it. I have an extra Graflex back on a Crown Graphic parts camera. Can I take off the Spring Back on the View 2 and put on the Graflex Back?

In a word.....No, the Crown and the View are entirly different in the way the back mounts and are different sizes, the view is square and has a lip around it that fits the recess on the view body and the crown in retangular being taller than it is wider, I am sure an adapter could be made, and then you would have to do some measurements to ensure the focal plane of the film and the focus screen were in the same plane.

If you're just looking to use a rollfilm holder then the 620 Adapt a roll [That's the right name?] will work. The things seem to sell pretty cheap. You need a 620 spool for take up but it'll feed from a 120 roll. Nice wide format. |

You can also pick up a Calumet roll film holder that mounts the same as a regular 4 X 5 holder, depending on the spring back, I have had a couple the springs were relaxed enough that I could place a poloroid 405 pack holder under the spring back as well.

Well thanks for the info about Calumet etc. I have two rollbacks, and don't want to buy any from Calumet. Hopefully I can get my Polaroid 545i in there with out straining the springs too much. Sure don't want to break them. Then....you are out a camera.

Barney,
I use a 545i with my view I with a spring back all the time and it does not present any problems, the spring actually have quite a bit of flexibility to them and can be pulled quite a ways away from the back.
