Les;
Thanks for the pics and data. Better lock those up before Obi-Wan and his pals black-bag your house!
Do you have date of introduction of any other flash equiptment, notably the Heiland/Sol and King Sol flashguns and the various mounting systems?

What great Graflex flash information! Now for the big question...

Do you have a early Graflex flash you would be willing to part with? It would be going to a good home and would be used to educated the public about Combat Photographers and the work they did.

Everytime I try chasing one on EBay I end up getting outbid by St*rW*rs boneheads.

OK, DGeraths. Now, you've crossed the line. FYI, this board does not permit sales. That's why, on the main board, there's a list of suggested vendors which sell Graflex equipment.

You'll have to do your search elsewhere. Info queries are welcomed here.

Was there a need to be rude about it?

Alec;
I don't think that the man is out of line; he's just trying to complete his kit.
I know that the subject of Graflex flashguns is a sore one, and I know that there is a VERY strict no buy/sell policy on this site. It's your site, your rules, and I'll play by them. But sometimes I don't like them much.

Whoa, Top. It's not MY site. I'm only a visitor here, just like you. I don't make the rules. The goal here is to exchange information, not equipment. I fail to understand why following simple rules [NO SALES] is so hard.

And, I don't believe I was rude [it certainly wasn't intentional]. Frankly, I thought HE was rather rude to put Les [who IS the moderator here] in that position, after Les had tried so hard to help him. It's not like that restriction isn't obvious.

It is all moot at this point. About 5 minutes ago I won an EBay auction. The auction was for a 4x5 Speed Graphic in fair condition but need of some restoration. Not a problem, I have restored many of these.
The description mentioned that the camera comes with four film holders and a flash with cord. That is as far the description goes on the flash. However, I could see in the photos that the flash was a Graflex with shield...

I got the whole package for $68.00. Not bad...

Congrats on your purchase. I have been watching auction prices for the Graflites and it seems they are coming down. A lot. Maybe the S.W. fruitcakes are loosing interest?
