Anyone use these? A buddy has one in 2x3, and I just swapped off one in 3x4. They look like a good rig, but I've only used the Adapt-a-Roll, Calumet, and graflex roll backs myself.

I use 'em all the time and have no gripes other than having to peek through the ruby window to see frame numbers (please do that in dim light). If you are luky enough to get one with 3 windows and a full set of masks, you will have all the popular 120 format sizes in one holder. Except 6X7. If you get one without a sliding cover for the ruby windows, be wise and cover them with tape or something when not looking through them. Modern films are more picky about this than the ones in use when these were built.

Hey, Glenn, please tell us more. I've handled some Suydams, never understood how to attach one to a camera.

If the holder is made for a Graphic style camera, they attach just like any Graflex roll holder via the Graflok back or the very rare roll holder springs for the Graphic spring back. The neat thing about these is that the body on the holders for 2X3 cameras is a little narrower than the parts that Graflok clamps hold onto. It's real easy to fashion 2 clamps to fit the screw holes for the springs on a spring back. If you have a good rangefinder, you may never need to remove the holder for things like landscape shots, etc. I also have a pair of springs I made up that work pretty well. The holder slides in and I have an extra GG panel that will slide in, if needed. Be aware that Suydam made holders for lots of different cameras but experience makes it pretty easy to tell which ones fit. Some were also labeled Burke & James.
